Celebrate one of Manchester City's most iconic supporter traditions with the Blue Moon Banana Inspired Man City Embroidered Football T-Shirt, inspired by the inflatable bananas that became a symbol of the club's terrace culture in the late 1980s.

The tradition began during the 1987–88 season at Maine Road, closely linked to striker Imre Varadi and his affectionate nickname, “Imre Banana”. What started as terrace humour soon became a fan favourite. Our design celebrates this unique history through bold BLUE MOON lettering, a golden banana-shaped crescent moon, three stars and a subtle football detail, finished in our signature embroidered style.

Materials

Solid colours are 100% ring-spun cotton. Heather colours are a cotton/polyester blend. Fabric composition can vary by colour.

Care instructions

Machine wash cold, inside-out, on a gentle cycle with mild detergent and similar colours. Do not iron decoration. Tumble dry low, or hang-dry for longest life. Do not dry clean.

Stitching process

Every design is individually digitised by embroidery specialists rather than simply printed onto fabric.

This creates a raised, textured finish with excellent durability. Very fine details may be subtly refined during digitising while maintaining the original design.

Sustainability

Each T-shirt is made to order, helping reduce waste by avoiding unnecessary mass production.
